Feed Questions

Here are some questions to get us started...

In America, what makes people most happy?

What role does fear play in our decision-making processes?

Is technology something that needs to be embraced, or can people choose to live a "low tech" life and still be "successful" in today's society?

Do corporations have a valid place/purpose in schools, or are they simply trying to market to students?

I believe that in america alot of things make people happy. But the most thing is Money and the ability to get what you want very easily.

Technology is something that will be needed because if you choose a "low tech" life u only have the certain services to you as if you were using several technologies you have many choices to advance whatever it is that you are doing.

In America most people are happy with the way that they live. If someone in America does not like the way they live it can very easily be changed. But in the book Feed, they have to live with a computer chip in their head, showing them how to live, where to live, and when to do things. Basically the characters in Feed do not have a mind of their own, but the mind that the Trademark Companies(T.M.) have given them.

I believe that technolgy is something that needs to be embraced because the world we live in today is constanty evolving and without having the tools necessary to live a normal life, one may find themselves living a life of no substance. It is possible to live a "low tech" lifestyle and not get involved in the media, but you probably will not be able to find yourself keeping up with what is going on around you.

I pesonally believe that corporations don't have a valid purpose in schools. I believe them to be nothing but a distraction to the learning environment. We all know that technology plays a large roll in society these days but the majority of people don't care to much of what the technology can do for them but more so is it better then the man next doors. Corporations make life into a big competition. Does my textbook cover shimmer more then Steph's? People need to learn how to buy nessesary things and not necessities with money they've never seen.

I believe that society in recent years has become to relient on the use of technology and it has been made increasingly difficult to live a low tech life. For instance i recently tried to complete some simple school work on my computer and because of so many annoying things i had to go through to install the right thing and load whatever i had to i found myself just giving up. I honestly think that if things were as they were years ago when things only had to be hand written i would be more apt to complete my work because as much as technology helps it also can be annoying.

In america these are the things that makes people happy are to see thier family. Some of the things that make me happy is money, caring, about people and loving, other people. In america parents are happy to see thier children succeeding in life because we are living in a bad world.
